昨日男單經歷艱辛一役的盧彥勳，1日與搭擋塞爾維亞「眼鏡俠」提普塞勒維奇（Janko Tipsarevic），以6：4、6：2直落二擊敗義大利、西班牙聯軍，挺進第二輪。這也是盧彥勳第4度挺進男雙32強。
男單與克羅埃西亞巨人重砲手卡洛維奇（Ivo Karlovic）激戰5盤，遭61記Ace轟炸吞敗的盧彥勳，經過半天休息後，與搭擋提普塞勒維奇對決義大利洛倫齊（Paolo Lorenzi）與西班牙塞凡提斯（Inigo Cervantes），而洛倫齊正是里約奧運首輪擊敗盧彥勳的對手。
首盤盧提組在第一個發球局，就有破發機會可惜未果，盧彥勳第一次發球，卻一度0：40落後，讓對手擁有3個破發機會，盧彥勳靠著發球化解破發點，再破洛倫齊的發球局，以6：4拿下一盤。第二盤一開始就先破洛倫齊發球局，3：1再度破發取得4：1，最後以6：2輕鬆拿下第二盤，直落二晉級第2輪。
這是盧彥勳第4度打進男雙32強，而美網男雙最高成績是2013的16強。他們下一戰對手將是今年厄瓜多公開賽亞軍，巴西雙打貝魯奇（Thomaz Bellucci）／戴蒙林爾（Marcelo Demoliner）。
